Anatomy of an Outfit: Loosen Up

You guys know that every morning when I get dressed I hold my self to a post-apocalyptic fashion standard. But now that the weather is turning from hot to cold I feel lost. I can't seem to adapt my end-of-the-world sense of style to warm weather.
I've been living in these feather earrings from the 1970s lately. My friend's mom gave them to me and at the same time passed down some groovy roach clip earrings from the same year - they had little burn marks on them and everything! So, maybe I'll focus on the bohemian look for the summer. I've always had an affinity for the 1970s - bell bottoms, braids, peace, love and happiness can totally do it for me - when I'm not preparing to kill zombies and defend myself against hungry cannibals, that is.

Looks like the PX90 is making those pants of yours a size too big!!!
Tracy - I know! They've always been a little loose but now they're practically falling off my hips. It just makes them that much more cozy.
how are you always able take a little something from here and a little something from there and make it in to something fabulous?
Sweetest compliment ever. Thank you, it's me!
The feather earrings! I have been on the lookout for some for SO long!!
Also, can we talk about how comfy those pants look? Goodness.

Your blog is very interesting, but honestly, that is so far from being a groovy seventies bohemian look! I wore very similar outfits when I was was a preppy horse girl. I thought the feather made be a hippy chick but it just outed me as a wanna-be. You are way better than this.
Swan - Ha, this comment made me smile. I suppose I was focusing on the earrings and just the way I felt in this outfit - loose & free. Obviously, it's not a direct interpretation of a 1970s bohemian outfit but I felt the love while I was wearing it. Does that make sense?
Definitely makes sense - I have tons of things that I love because they make me happy, even though my family gasps in horror every time I parade around in them.
Also, I did not call you a wanna-be - I outed MYSELF as a wanna-be. I doubt that you want to be anyone other than who you are. I wish I could say that about myself.
Swan - I've been thinking a lot about your comment - and you know, what's wrong with mixing it up? Do you have to be 100% committed to a look all the time? If anything I don't think that feather outed you as a wannabe but rather showed a glimpse of your character typically hidden behind a preppy horse girl facade. Yeah?
And no hard feelings, really. Like I said on Twitter - I liked being challenged by your comment. It got me thinking.
