Uninvited Invitation

I had never even heard of a "phantom ball" until I was hired to design an uninvitation for one.

El Reno Public Schools hosted a truly uneventful evening to benefit the public school children of El Reno.

Guests are invited NOT to attend the ball and donate in lieu of renting a tux, finding a babysitter and undergoing the many hassles associated with attending a fundraising ball.

The best part is all proceeds go to the cause - and not to a catering company.

This piece was printed digitally by Heritage and I faked texture by scanning in paper and using it as a design element. The envelopes are printed 1-color on Kraft paper.

I thought this was a fun concept and had a blast designing this (un)invite.

Love it! You are super talented.

i love it, too. and, to be quite honest, i'm surprised to see something so... nice? ... for el reno. perhaps they are moving on up.

just realize my last comment may have sounded like i was hating on el reno. didn't mean it that way.

What a great idea!

Caroline - I think your comment actually brings up a valid point about design in Oklahoma in general. I think it's not valued like it is in other areas of the country (and world) but it goes to show that good design elevates your message! I think that's why blogs like ours are so important to show that there are Oklahomans that create, appreciate, and DEMAND good design (fashion, interior, graphic, etc.)

El Reno was actually referred to me by Heritage Press - so props to Heritage for valuing good design too! ;)

that is a fab idea! and cool design! :)

Kathleen - Thanks for the link & the props! You rock.

Caroline - Come on out and see us! I'll take you to get a famous El Reno Onion Burger, and I'll give you a tour of our state of the art plant & warehouse. We even have running water...although I don't recommend drinking it!!!! ; ) (Seriously Caroline, bring Kathleen out and Julie and I will treat you both to lunch!)

Wow....El Reno is Rockin it!!! Very smart idea!! Caroline I totally understand what you mean. It's not mean. They get stuck in a rut out there sometimes. I'm glad to see some fresh ideas starting to take hold. I grew up in Calumet...it's even worse. I don't hate my hometown but I do get frustrated with them.

Hey, would you guys mail me an onion burger, coney with EXTRA SLAW and a half order of fries? Pretty please?
